Sailun tires...what am I missing

I've had my Goodyear G614s on for about 5 1/2 years and it's time for new tires. I've read the reviews on the Sailun S637s and want to go with them. The Goodyears are 235/85R16 but the closest I can find are Sailun 235/85R17.5. Will these fit?

Not without using different rims. The Goodyears you quote are 16's for 16" rims the Sailun's need 17.5" rims.

Nope, he last number is the rim diameter. You can change the rims to 17.5", and some on the forum have done that. The g-114 tires cost half the price of G-614's, and I believe are same or high weight carrying capacity. The tires are common on Semi-Truck trailers I think. Greg Kerlin did the conversion to Alcoa 17.5 Wheels, G114 Tires.

H. John Kohl also did the conversion to G-114 (H Range Tires).

G114, being load range h, are much higher capacity than g load range tires. G equal approx 3700 and H equals approx 4800. H load range is commercial trailer tire. John

I just ordered 4 of the 16" Sailun S637 tires from NTB in Rockwall TX. $600.18 installed, balanced with high pressure stems.

And put another nail in the coffin of the American Worker.
Not to mention some more money in the pocket of our enemy.

NRA-Girl: That sure looks like a Kalashnikov rifle (or a clone) you are holding. Furthermore, if I was to remove every item in my Montana 5'er and Ram pickup that was made in China, I would cease to be RVing...
I would love it if America was the dominant industrial strength and exporter we once were, but we got sloppy and expensive. It's gone. We invited it to slip away from us and it did.

I was invited to shoot the rifle one day at a range. Its a C39 built by Century Arms right here in the good old USA.

America could be a lot more dominant in manufacturing than we are now but we have to stop looking for the cheapest products that we can find and instead try to support made at home. If we all just started to buy American products when we can find them slowly but surely we would get a lot of our manufacturing capability back. And reduce our trade deficit in the balance.

And perhaps we did get a little sloppy in some areas, but much of that was corrected years ago. And we didn't get expensive - WE AS CONSUMERS GOT CHEAP!

American workers will never (I hope) compete with Chinese Slave Labor and filthy polluting manufacturing plants. I prefer an America where a worker can earn a decent wage and support a family, take vacations, and participate in the American Dream. And to have that type of society then consumers need to support America thru their purchases.

I understand that our Montana has Chinese parts too. Some things are next to impossible to avoid. That however does not mean that I will just give up and just buy every cheap Chinese part that I can find. I'll still make the effort, pay more, and try to support my friends, family, neighbors, and fellow citizens. And get a better product in the end!

There is a difference between buying a Montana (a US made product) that has some Chinese parts in it - and deliberately going out and buying Chinese tires. A higher quality albeit more expensive alternative exists that is US made.

The Chinese are expanding their military, they've forced down our spy planes and took them apart. They oppose us at every turn on the UN Security Council. They steal our secrets, support North Korea, hack our computers, manipulate their currency, and are buying up our country. We are essentially at war with them now. Not with bullets and bombs - but a quieter economic war. They won't have to use bombs - because they will only be bombing the assets that they will own if we don't change course. They already hold so much of our debt that they could inflict great economic harm on us and every time that we buy another Chinese product their strength gets greater - one purchase at a time. And we get weaker... one purchase at a time.

I don't say these things to shame people or pass judgement. I say them because I am passionate about my love for America and it breaks my heart to see people supporting the enemy just because they can save some money. And make no mistake - China is not a friend of ours. They want to steal our lunch money and if we continue on our present course they will. They are patient - we are not.

Freedom isn't free. Or cheap.

The type of country that we leave to future generations depends on what we do today.

What will you do today?

Buy American now or speak Mandarin later.

Can we please just get back to insulting me for saving money? I don't care where the tires are built as long as they have a good reputation. You don't see this kind of BS about Michelin. Damned French.

Good point on buy American made stuff if you are passionate as to do so ... reality is there's not enough of today's flavor of "Americans" that feel that way and never will be again ... anyone with an ounce of cognizance of reality cannot argue that fact. Without bloodshed on our home soil, we are past the point of no return ... I challenge you to argue that fact as well. If a guy wants to buy a set of tires with good reviews near 1/2 of what G614's cost that's his decision. I would as well. You have to draw the loyalty line at some point. RonD ... if you honestly think that those Chevy's have absolutely no China made parts on them ... I've got some ocean front property in northern Arkansas I'll let go cheap to a fellow MOC'er.
