Noises from LCI leveling sysyem

Hello,

My wife and I own a 2015 Keystone Montana 3610RL Fifth Wheel, which we purchased new in Dec 2015.

We are experiencing popping noises and associated vibration which we believe is originating from the front two (of 6 ) leveling jacks.

We wondered if anyone else is experiencing this, and if so, have you found resolution?

I called the dealership where we purchased our rig. We were told they were not familiar with this complaint. It was suggested that I contact Lippert (LCI) as they are the manufacturers of the self leveling system.

Any suggestions on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

This is a well known "feature" of the level up system. Lippert has identified the problem as "stiction". There is a solution available by adding a quart or two of special (15 weight) oil. Read about the problem and solution here http://www.montanaowners.com/forums/...ad.php?t=71385

Had exactly the same problem on our 2015, used the CAT oil and fixed it permanently.

Our dealership PDI'd ours with the Cat oil prior to delivery as they were well aware of the issue. Any good dealership should prep a trailer with such prior to delivery as they all know this has been an issue on every unit regardless of manufacturer who uses the level up system.

Wouldn't you think after all the years with this problem that Lippert would be filling units with a mixture to combat the problem before delivering the frames to the Mfrs??

Highly doubt lippert fills the reservoir prior to frame shipment. The RV manufacturer on the other hand......

You are correct, the reservoir is filled at the factory. The reservoir is installed and filled at the Keystone plant.

Maybe that explains alot. When I had Level-Up installed on our Monty it was done at the TrailAir Shop before everything moved to Lippert. And the Techs doing the install had a tank and pump that they connected to each jack and pumped in fluid numerous times to purge the air, this was done before installing the jacks.
And we never had any noise with that system, only problem we had was a bad control head.

Did you remove a quart of existing oil and then add half while all hydraulics closed and the other half when all hydraulics opened? Thanks

On both our last two units our reservoir was only about 2/3 full, so we added 1/2 the cat fluid, cycled everything then added the remainder.
Cat fluid here was the solution.
