That is the only way the C.W struts will fit and they will not hold the door up..

Don't know what to tell ya.....they work fine on ours. Are your doors the same size as ours? Maybe the struts are defective

Jack

That was a good maybe...the first strut we tried was weak and would not hold the door open. Tried another one and it works fine..Just my luck//had 4 struts to pick from and picked the one bad one......bad on C.W..

Well, sounds like you got it figured out Glad to hear it , but you are right.....bad on CW. Don't feel too badly Rich, I seem to have the same "bad" luck sometimes too.

Jack

Thanks for this string. We too have a 3100rl and I have been too lazy to pursue this but the struts will be a great addition.

I just installed the struts on ours and they work great. It would be even better if Keystone was reading this topic.

I seem to recall in an earlier thread about this topic that some one said Keystone does put the struts on doors of some of their rigs, but not the Montana or Big Sky. Go figure.

Do you need to put 2 struts on 1 door, or can you use one per door above the microwave?

I could find my post, so here is a picture of the mod I did two years ago. I got the struts from Amazon for $5.00

One strut per door works fine.

I am giddy now that I know that I don't have to try and hold the door open with one hand, stand on my tippy toes, and dig around until I find the cookie sheet with the other hand! I knew there had to be an answer! MOC to the rescue yet again! THANKS!
