Three month trip report

Well, we recently got back from a three month trip with our 2008 Montana 3400RL. We put about 4700 miles on the trailer. We went from Sun City, AZ to the UP, then back home via Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, and Arizona. I'm happy to report that the trailer did fine on the road. We only had two issues. Our old Dometic toilet foot pedal broke so I ended up replacing the entire toilet with a Thetford -- a blessing in disguise since it is a much better toilet! The only other issue was high winds when driving from SD to WY blew one of the vent covers off. The trailer pulled well with the TV. Even in some pretty high winds, it was stable, I could see the trailer swaying a little from the wheels to its rear, but from the wheels forward the trailer and truck was stable.

The inverter for the fridge worked as planned. No issues with any components. The funny thing was that after living in the trailer for 3 months, when we got home it took us a while to reorient where everything in the house was. Like, in the kitchen we were having to relearn which drawer the knives were in. And our modestly sized home seemed LARGE after being in the RV.

Sounds like you both had an awesome trip! so much to see on the road.

Home always feels a little strange to me, when we get back after a few months on the road. I always have to chuckle about the toilet’s pedal should I say lacking of pedal at home.

Welcome home. We have been traveling 3-4 months every summer since 2006. After those great experiences, we have a great routine and really continue to enjoy our 2006 Monty as well as our truck. Yes, coming home takes a few days to get back to stick house routine--but we do that also.
