What weight do you carry on the 300lb 2” hitch

I’ve looked through the forums and can’t seem to find anything specific for what I want to do.
I have a hitch on my 3701lk rated at 300lb capacity. I’m using a 100lb generator at times and I’m looking for opinions on weather or not anyone else has carried anything in this weight range up to 200lbs on that hitch without any issues. I carry the generator in the TV right now but want the room in the truck bed.
My concern would be any bouncing that may occur during a trip. I do use the hitch for carrying two bicycles and clamps on the hitch receiver to minimize any movement.
The hitch came with the rig and it is welded to the frame.
So any opinions or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

There is a lot of whiplash on the rearend of a camper especially when you go over an uneven patch of road. The weight then will far exceed 300 pounds. You are carrying your generator in your truck. I would put a receptacle in the front of your truck.

Having a hitch stabilizer as you have done is a big help.
We have a DK2 hitch carrier. I also added a stabilizer.
We carry two Harbor Freight 2000W Predator generators back there, strapped down and covered with a heavy duty BBQ grill cover and bungie corded down.
I also added 1.5" aluminum tubing that slides right up into the welded hitch frame, then bolted to the carrier. This also help with any sway.
The carrier has an extended tongue so that reduces the weight carrying capacity a little.
Altogether we have 180lbs on the hitch (carrier + 2 generators, each weighs 60lbs).

I think to be on the safer side I’m going to install a front hitch on the TV and leave the bikes on the rear hitch. Thanks for the comments it’s been helpful

Etrailer sells these. I have the Curt front receiver on my truck and it works fantastic. I haul our E-bikes and even my dual sport motorcycle with the front hitch.

I used to carry an e-bike on a back of trailer receiver. It was too low and it bounced around. I changed to using a receiver mounted on the front of the truck. Made by Curt, it bolts on, no welding needed. Much better, less bounce and I can keep an eye on things. Con, bugs, and would not want carry something that restricted too much air flow.
