DS Scare light bulb replacement

I'm on the road so my options are limited, but I noticed last night that the DS Scare light has a burned out bulb. The only ladder I have is 6' so I have to be careful if I change it myself.

What I want to know is how to get to the bulb. It looks like the clear plastic cover is held on by recessed screws. Anyone know if they are Phillips or the square screws used a lot on a Montana?

Also what is the bulb type and can I use an LED in that fixture?

If it is like ours, the cover is 4 Philips screws. We put in Starlights 1141-400 LED bulb in ours. They are unique in that the bulb section is rotatable to allow you to aim it some to help throw the light where you want it. So far we are happy with them though it's only been a couple outings with them.

When I changed mine, I laid down and hung over the roof instead of using a ladder. Yes they're recessed Phillips screws. I don't remember the bulb number, but it was pretty standard, like an 1157.

Although I seldom use my scare lights ... if you are keeping with bulbs ... an 1156 will be disappointing as it's only about 23 watt. My originals in the scare lights were 50 watt. O'Reilly's Auto Parts sells a replacement 50 watt bulb(part number V520-50). As the original, it has a BA15S base.
