Black Mold on RV Roof

I think I may have some black mold around the area where the rear AC dumps the water when running. Tried to scrub it off with roof cleaner, didn't work, then dilute vinegar no better. Does anyone have any ideas how to get this stuff off the rubber roof or am I stuck with it?

Thanks

Have tried multiple recommendations over the years
None worked. A few folks actually have fabricated a pvc drain pipe for the AC runoff. I just live with it. Walmart has a mold remover spray in the boat supply area that helps, but the black stains are there to stay, at least on my rigs.

Nothing really works has been my experience also. A few national rallies back we ask the roof manufacturer what to clean it with and they recommended not cleaning the roof at all.

I have the same issue and agree with Dick and Mike. Tried multiple things to clean it. Nothing works well. I'm really not even sure it is mold but more discoloration from the water running across an already dirty surface plus the 18 wheeler diesel soot you pick up running down the highway. A water surface will pick up more than a dry surface. Not pleasant to look at but harmless. No one will see it from the ground.

It baffle's me why anyone would even care what there rv roof looks like. They require no maintenance other that an occasional cleaning (just to keep the black streaks in check) The same EPDM roofing is used on commercial buildings and are never cleaned and last decades.

I have had some luck using Dawn 4X with a medium stiff brush. It removed about 70% of the black stain. Like most stains, the longer they sit in the sun and bake, the more difficult they become to remove.
I use to purchase all types of speciality cleaners, roof cleaner, awning cleaner, bug and black streak cleaner, now all I use is Dawn 4X for everything. It is safe to use and does a super job on the black crud that builds up the silicone sealer used along the moldings and doors.

Is it actually mold or has the white top layer been compromised to the black EPDM underlayment?

I agree with Dave W. EPDM roof is black painted white. You've cleaned it with cleaner & vinegar, it's clean, probably the white is coming off.

with all the white junk on the ground say yes the white is not staying up there.
but i did read a bleach wash can help. but if the white is coming off...maybe it would just make the roof more black?

I use bleach on mine, comes out nice and white.
Just be sure to rinse well and wash the sides to get the goo off before it dries.
Best to do it on a cloudy day so it doesn't dry fast.
