On Board 12 volt Air compressor
I am considering purchasing a VIAIR 400P RV OR A VIAIR 450P RV for the 375FL. I am thinking of a permanent mounting in the front compartment and using a 5 gallon tank. I need to keep the weight down for now as I have a marginal TV. Does anyone have experience with these. I also need compressed air for my RC car hobby. I do not have a portable 120vac generator so those AC compressors are out of the question for now.
Does anyone have experience with 12 volt air compressors VIAIR or others?

Have a 3000W inverter I keep in the in the fiver, runs my AC compressor just fine. Can use fiver or truck batteries to use anywhere.

You might want to message OZZ. I believe he has one mounted on his truck.

I have a Viair 400P (no tank with mine). It's a great unit. All the Viair stuff I've seen seems to be well made. The best prices on them are online.

My 2012 Lariat has an inverter, but I'm not sure the size. Does your 2011 have one?

Hi Iretired06!
What size battery bank do you have on your 3,000 watt inverter? Right now I probably cannot put up with the extra battery weight due to my TV. I do have the 1,000 watt inverter for the fridge but it only powers the fridge outlet. I was thinking in the future of adding a 3,000 watt-4,000 watt inverter and a generator.

Mine is portable, bought at Tractor Supply. It hooks up to any battery just like a battery charger. About the size of a Direct TV DVR receiver. I usually hook up to the truck when I need to use. Has two outlets for extension cords. Keep it in the front storage compartment.

I just bought the 450P RV and it topped my tires from 110 to 116 in no time at all.
Very impressed with it, and I dont have a tank.

I have been using the Master Flow MV90 for years. It's from Q Industries. You can find it on line for about $125. Years ago I read a comparison of the MV90 with the equivalent Viair and the MV90 was its equal at about 1/4 the cost. I have never had a problem with the unit. It's a beast. Tops off my 614's in seconds. I put in fused 4 gauge wires to my 6 volt batteries and used Marinco 40a 12v connectors on a frame mounted plate between the wheels to connect the compressor and my florjet macerator. One of my favorite mods.

Try mounting it on your Tow Vehicle. Viar and 5 Gallon tank powers my airhorns and fills my tires.

Although I've only used it 5-6 times in 5 years, I have one of the Harbor Freight high volume Viar knockoffs. I fills a 16" tire to 50 psi in a few minutes. For the price it has worked well for me ... all I had to do extra after I got it was retighten the head bolts. I too am thinking of adding a 5 or 10 gallon storage tank onboard the fiver.

I have train horns on my truck and just put a quick connect under the step bar on the drivers side, carry an air hose under the back seat and I'm good to go.
