fifth wheel skirt - Montana Owners Club

Purchased one of those 5th wheel skirts..you know the thing that encloses the front cap. Camping world had a good one on sale for 149.00 and we have been wanting one for storage while in Florida for 6 months. Had to drill a bunch of holes in the 3400 for the snaps but it is pushing 3 years old now and punching holes in it is a lot easier now. Sure make for a lot of storage under there and makes the old campsite a bit neater. The camping world in Kissimmee also a dealership was full of campers last year This year there was exactly Zero new campers in the lot....empty..None anywhere. Hope that is not a bad sign..also noted the shelves were a bit under stocked however a workamper we recognized from last winter said business has been picking up due to arriving snowbirds.

Do they have them sized for the 3400 specifically? What was item number that fit? Did you have to alter for fit? Are there fastener schemes other than snaps?

stiles watson, if you happen to get down to the RGV there is places that will come out and measure and custom make it to fit. If I remember right you don't have to put so many holes in the 5er front cap. As richfaa said makes the camp site look so much better. GBY....

brand name is ADCO 3 layer laminated heavy duty vinyl..had to drill 14 screw holes for the snaps, Zippers on three sides. Understand that the snaps are the best installation.Suction cups and velcro are the other two methods and have been told neither works very well.

Size for the 3400 is 64"H X 236"L No alterations, easy fit..takes some measuring for proper alignmnet of the snaps..two people make the job easy..

Got the same skirt for our 3485 when we ordered the rig. Dealer put it on so I didn't have to drill the holes initially. Since than I have added a few extra snaps to fill in the gaps and make it a bit more wind resistent.
To tie it down I use the metal tent stakes and the ball bungees. The plastic stakes will keep pulling out
Here in Florida I buy, sell and repair used bicycles. The CG doesn't like when I have my complete inventory sitting outside in full view. They only allow 2 bikes but I have 13. Yes all 11 will fit under the skirt. In fact all 13 would fit if need be.

I agree with Glenn. A few more snaps would be better.We will get a few more. We are on a hard pad so can't secure the bottom with stakes so will get some 10 lbs weights and bungees. We got the last one at this C.W as you can see by the add it is a good price.

We have one and really use it, especially when we are shoewhere for awhile and get our bikes out. We have the folding Dahons and they fit under there real good. I use two stakes on the outer corners and use tie straps for the ones closer to the landing gear, just tie them to the gear....

Look at a sporting goods store, like Academy, for the ball bungee cords. I picked up a slew of them there and cheaper than the RV dealer or CW.

How do they adjust for height? I'm usually tall in the nose or way low, depending on the grade of the campground.

They are a standard height and there is no adjustment.

Thanks for all the information. Someday when mary and I can join you folks with longer camping trips we have been talking about those front end skirts. I also like the screen houses for the patios but while we are weekenders there is no use to have these toys yet. We keep making our wish lists based on a lot of things we read about on MOC. Jon

They are 72'long with no adjustment. Once you have the snaps in place it takes a very short time to get it up. Don't think I would do it for a weekend tho. We also got the enclosed patio tent as there are a gazillion bugs in Florida. These are longtimer/fulltimer toys..

I checked prices on 3 other online suppliers and the Camping World price was the best for a change. So I ordered it. Thanks for making me aware of the sale. The north wind here at my site will blow in such a way so as to come from the open rear of the storage area. I am thinking of covering the rear of the storage area with light weight rigid material and tying or snapping the skirt to it. Have any of you current owners made an effort to control the wind from the rear?
