Just an idea on the attic....
Has anyone ever tried circulating a little outside air through the attic, just to keep it a few degrees cooler. There's got to be some sort of roof mount fan that would be suitable. A couple of those roof jacks could provide inlet air. Any thoughts out there?

Will, my roof has vents in it, I think with all the insulation, there would not be much air circulation for a fan.

Maybe your's has more insulation than the Mountaineer. There looks like lots of air space in there to me. I'll have to take another look. What sort of vents do you have?

They are roof caps to let moisture and circulate air out, probably could be improved on, but we remain pretty comfy in here, so I haven't fiddled with it.

Now you're an old plumber; you're not talking about the roof jacks over the vent pipes? Seems those are pretty tight fit over the PVC vent IIRC. I removed a couple by accident on the TT. Came in at the stick house in a storm, and was gonna ease the TV under the garage. Dang basketball goal was just the right height to clip the caps of those things.
I may have to run over to Camper Clinic and look at the new Montana's and see what they have. Only problem is, I don't like to look at the new ones; get that upgrade fever.
We stay plenty cool, but I'm always for improvement to use less energy. I don't like seeing that meter spin.

Will, I prefer 'experienced', maybe 'well seasoned', over old. I am old, but it just sounds....well, younger. Ha!, yep, old and tough as an old boot.
My Montana has the small vents for some circulation as well as the plumbing vents.
I suggest keeping the fan running on the A/C, letting the compressor cycle on and off as needed, this will save you energy dollars, and it will seem cooler with the air movement.

I guess I used the wrong choice of words there. I really didn't mean old as in "age". My dad was a plumber. I've done some, but I prefer to stay away from that line of work. In fact, if it doesn't involve fishing or crabbing, I try to stay away from it all.
I am gonna check my roof, but I don't think I have anything purely for roof ventilation. Thanks for the info. Hope you can sale your place and find a place you like here in TX. TX has been good to us since moving here in '79.
