Wheel Width

I have a 2020 373RD, what is the wheel width? I'm thinking the next time I need tires of going to a slightly wider wheel. Thinking the G Rated tire would wear better. I think the wheel width is standard across the line. Just not sure what it is.

Not exactly sure but the spare is on a 16x6. Also 2024's come with G rated tires. ST235/80R16 should be same size as yours.

https://www.keystonerv.com/product/m...h-wheels/specs

We have the same size G rated tire (Sailun) on our 2021 3231CK with 16,500 GVWR. Some members mention upsizing to 235/85R16 since they're rated for 4400 lbs vs 4080 lbs. If you're looking to upsize the tire, here's a link that calculates tire size and has wheel sizes listed under alternates. The calculator shows the 85s are the same width but about 1 inch taller.

https://tiresize.com/calculator/

Just curious, since you want better wear, how many miles do you have on the tires?

Also depending on the width, a wider tire might experience more edge wear from scrubbing during tighter turns.

Peaked my interest, so I googled it.

The ST255/85R16 tires will fit on the same 16x6 inch wheels as the ST235/80R16 tires. There will be a substantial size difference though. It will change your width from 9.25 inches to 10 inches and your overall diameter from 30.79 to 33.1 inches.
Are you telling me peps are upgrading to an 85 and gaining an 1 1/2 height?

Hmmm . . . going at it another way, here's what Sailun shows. The OD and SW dimensions match the calculator.

The other advantage, Les, is the 85’s have more carrying capacity. We went ‘85 on our new tires on the way to Alaska. We could only find Discount Tire Hartland’s in G in Billings without waiting. That’s what the ranchers use up there.

Not quite Tony. LeftOverParts was referring to the Sailun 235/85/R16 tire not a 255! The 235 size tire comes in two aspect rations - 80 and 85. The 85 is 1" taller (which actually means 1/2" less clearance in the wheel wells - not a problem) than the 80 and has a higher load capacity.

The 255's will not fit well in the wheel wells (well they will until the first good pothole).

Currently running the Sailun 85 Series on 2020 373RD standard rims. As mentioned above sounds like a wheel has 6 1/2' width. When a tire is run on a wheel narrower than designed, it crowns the tread. This set and the previous set get unusual wear on the outer 3/4" of the tread. It is not under inflation. Other MOC members have report same unusual wear. And tight turns are not my thing.

So thinking a slightly wider wheel will flatten tread an prevent this wear.

Have you ever had an alignment done on your trailer ? If not maybe look into going to a reputable trailer alignment shop, this might help solve your problem with the ware on your tire.

Sorry, I read the OP wrong thinking you wanted a wider tire. I’ve seen the wear you’re describing on cars/trucks with too wide a tire. I was also looking at our tires and the edges are worn more but also slightly more to the outside. Maybe an alignment issue as stated. I keep the tires at 110 psi so I know it’s not from under inflation.

Anyway, a quick web search does show 16x7’s available with 4080 lb and 4400 lb wt ratings. If you get a wider wheel, would be helpful to know if they help with your wear.

Had IS installed - and after two years had MorRyde redo the alignment. Said it was inspec but did minor adjustments that hasn't changed wear.
