Aluminum shavings in basement
After traveling there are small shavings of aluminum in my basement on the front side. Any idea where they might be coming from?
I have a 2018 3121rl that is just over 1 year old.

I would coduct a serious search for where they are coming from as you could have a broken weld on the aluminum frame.

Agree with Dick but it also could be from when it was built. They don't clean up any sawdust or aluminum savings at all. If you look behind the back wall of the basement you will see what I'm talking about.

Thanks, that's a scary thought. I'll check it out closer in the morning.

I'm sure it's cuttings from the basement walls and floors being fastened down. The little screws they use have little drill bits on them. They go everywhere. The way to pick up the most is crawling around with a pair of shorts on. The skin on knees seem to collect them best!

Over 10,000 miles on the current rig and I'm still finding shavings on every excursion. I've even found brand new, never been used screws lying on the den carpet. Take a look around after you hit a particularly bad stretch of road.

And if you ever drop the bottom/s to get into the area where tanks and other stuff resides, you will find lots more shavings, sawdust, dropped fittings, screws, etc.

If you really want to find debris, look in the ceiling vents!

I think I've found enough screws to start a hardware store.

I think it's very gracious of Montana to supply replacement hardware with every unit. I guess they know we'll need it!
