There are 2 different options for the Jack Antenna. You can purchase the unit that has its own mounting base which mounts directly onto the roof like in this link

http://www.amazon.com/KING-JACK-Ampl...&keywords=jack. You remove the winegard batwing head then install the Jack HD replacement antenna. Takes maybe 5 minutes for this installation. The 2nd option is what I went with and am very satisfied with the results. Tim
