re -stringing the shade...

We got the re string kit yesterday and Helen is behind me doing the re string trick. They sent us enough string to redo about every blind in the camper. I have a feeling we will need it as this is the third one. It is also better string.Of course keystone did not mount the blinds as indicated by the manufacturer. They should be on three brackets and keystone screwed them to the wall with three big screws and at the incorrect angle. I will not ask Keystone why they did that as I do not want to know. When you remove the blinds and we are sure you will in time, the size and other information is written on the top of the blind. Copy it and file it away in case you need to order a new blind... The blind over the couch in the 06 3400 is 54x24.

Which means that you need four 54 inch lengths of string to re string that blind.

Glad to find someone doing this.

1 - how do you get the blind off the wall - the valance hides it?
2 - where did you get the string?
3 - how do you restring the day/nite blinds?

Thanks - I'll keep looking....

They will send you the string and instructions on how to re string

You need to take the valance down , Feel around for screws there is one on each end and about 6 attaching it to the wall..... maybe..depending on who installed it and how many screws he had access to. Then there are 3 screws holding the blind to the wall. When the screws come out they will most likely strip the holes so have tooth picks handy..It will not hurt to be triple jointed and have a neck that bends in the middle

Thank you for the contact info Rich - I just called to put in my order with credit card in hand and she never even asked for the number.
And if I fail to do the restringing, all I have to pay for is shipping and they'll put it together for me.
Gotta like that!

Don't think you will have any problem with the re stringing. It is taking the stuff down that is the hard part. Note that places around here charge 35.00 to re string a small blind and 75.00 for a large one.
