South Rim Grand Canyon

Looks like mid Aug. we are planning a trip to Palm Springs and want to stop at the south rim of the canyon. Doing a little surfing and found Mather CG, Desert View CG, Trailer Village in the park. Outside there are two others I found Camper Village, Ten-X CG. What do you think of these or other CLOSE to the south rim. THANKS & See-Ya

We are staying at the KOA in Williams right now. Just a short drive to GC. It is Circle Pines KOA not the GC one. A bit pricey but very, very nice park and free WiFi. It is right off the 40.
Happy trails....................

Trailer village is very nice with full hook-ups and is within walking distance of the rim, visitor center, etc. It also has a bus stop that will take you all over the park.

Hi Ed We stayed at the KOA in Williams in Jan Or Feb of 04. Over 8" of snow. What a bummer. Drive thousands of mil;es to get out of it and end right back in what you were trying to avoid. Nice young couple ha just bought it and were doing a lot of improvments. They have to haul all the water from town as it cost the town over $1,000,000 to drill theirs. Dan

Dennis & Debbie,
We have stayed at trailer village and liked it since the shuttles came right to the campground. We didn't have to drive anywhere and no problems finding parking spots.

Yes, reservations are a must this time of year.
The sites were wide and pull throughs.
