Cody WY Campgrounds

I'm on my way toward Cody WY and thinking I may want to make this my base camp for Yellowstone. I have a 39' fifth wheel so that has to be factored in also. Also want to do the rodeo's in Cody and of course Buffallo Bills Museum. I have looked at www.campgroundreviews.com but I find that sometimes even more confusing. Would like some input from the MOC family on this. Thanks in advance.

We stayed in Absaroka Bay RV Park the last time we were there. Nice clean park with fairly large sites, and not far from the musem and rodeo.

We stayed at Absaroka Bay too and found it to be a good site for Cody. I wouldn't use it for Yellowstone base camp though. It's a good long ride to the east entrance from Cody and then another good haul inside the park to get to most of the hot spots. You'll want to spend many days in the park. It's not a place you can do a fly by visit, one time. Way too big for that.

Absaroka Bay has great access from east or west, nice big roads and moderately large sites. There's no frills. It's strictly a place to stay, not a destination.

We stayed at Absaroka Bay also and at the time I was towing with the Freightliner and didn't have to unhook a + for us. And just down the road is a very nice Veterans park. Close to everything. We Love Cody Wyoming and are thinking of going there next year. I could spend weeks in the museum. Happy Trails...
