New Battery Question

I am replacing my battery today with a new one. Do you need to charge a new deep cycle battery before you put in the Montana or will the converter take care of this?

Bob,

New batteries usually come about 90% charged. The converter/charger should take care of the rest of it.

Thanks as always, I just got finished and it was like you said almost fully charged. You know I have got to get everything ready to go when when we start to retire in 26 days!

Long-timing here we come!

I had a similar question so I checked the Trojan web site and it said to equalize the battery(s) when you first put it into service and the approx every month thereafter. I'm buying the battery watering system from camping world and monthly I will top the water off and equalize them. I bought 2 trojan 6 volt batteries 2 years ago and didn't service them properly and they both died. I learned my lesson.
