Las Vegas to Lake Havasu, Arizona.
Our last day in Las Vegas was spent at Wynn Casino, we figured what the heck, we would be moving on in the morning to points South.
Wynn is absolutely beautiful, they must have as many decorators on staff as dealers. Steve lives on site and everyone loves him that works there.
Sue and were lost, wandering around from area to area, we came upon the high limit slots area, I had never seen a $1,000.00 slot machine! We settled on the cheapest one in the area, a $10.00 slot. I gave Sue a $100.00 bill and told her to have at it….
One pull, and up came $450.00 on the screen! It then gave the option of taking the $450.00, or going for the other ‘Piles of money’ on the screen that were blinking, $500.00, $750.00, $1,000.00, and $250.00. Sue asked what do I do??? I said take the money and let’s get the heck out of this area! She did, and we did……….
After collecting the cash, we were walking out, and a German tourist hit the same thing, he asked us what he won, and what should he do? He couldn’t believe he won, and gladly took the initial hit and he was outta there!!!
We migrated over to my Roulette wheel area, and settled down for some ‘Spinnin and winnin’! We made some friends at the wheel, a Russian duo of happy guys and a super sweet dealer that we wanted to take with us, she was so nice. We (I) played for 5 hours, Sue hit all the expensive shops, trying on jewelry (buying some) trying perfume and playing some dollar slots.
After 5 hours, 10 or so Corona’s, and a great deli dinner, we headed back home to the Oasis RV Resort for the evening. As near as I could tell, we had a great day there, came home with the money we left with, got some jewelry, food and drinks free. Wouldn’t want to drink the $8.00 Corona’s at the bar long….
The trip from Vegas to lake Havasu was beautiful, the weather has been perfect, mid 70’s and Sunny, the Grey mountains and desert scenes, then coming upon the Colorado River valleys, with the Green valley areas amid the rocks and beautiful jagged mountain peaks. What striking contrasts. We just couldn’t stop saying Wow.
This area at lake Havasu is an Oasis in the Desert, a large Colorado River fed lake, surrounded by the beautiful mountains you can see so clearly, because of the lack of pollution. Just a bunch of old people here not causing any dirty air. Actually, there are many ages, the lake brings in boaters from everywhere, and all ages.
We had the best Mexican food ever at a nice place overlooking the London Bridge. Sue and I walked on the bridge, under the bridge‘s edges, and…around the area of the bridge. Lot’s of great shopping here as well.
As for RV Resort; The Islander, security is tight, it’s clean, well managed and …expensive. A park model runs from $150,000 to $450,000. I would imagine that is just the start of the charges, lots of add on’s.
They advertise, and lie, about the Wi-Fi. In the Woodall’s they have the $$$ signs, that would imply that you could buy it at your site. Not the case, only way to get it is to park your rear on a concrete bench at the office and connect. Their brocure shows high speed internet service ‘Optional‘. Don’t know what that means, I would think option means something you could get…..No cable TV, and the antenna gives Ghosty images on some channels, no images on most.
But, lots of bike trails, I will be hitting them today.
2 Days later, i sit in the Library because I can't get on the internet from our site, (where I can see the Wi-Fi tower) Great place, best in town. Here comes Sue to do some banking with the 'Puter, so I gots to go...
Have some neat pictures, will try to post later.
