Thanks once again, Bob. I copied and saved it to digest when I can read through it with map in front of me.

Most of the time we avoid interstates when we can but will take them when it makes sense for us.

Thanks.

See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Steve,
What day are you coming through Joliet?? I will be there from Sept 3,4,5(whenever I finally roll in) and will be there until the rally. My grandmother lives approx 3 miles off of I-80, sounds like we can meet up and head over together...

Dave, that would be after the rally. Also, we won't leave the Kansas City area until 9/16. Guess we'll have to wait to the rally to meet you unless you want to swing down around KC on your way to Joliet! Imp and Trebor will be here 9/13 so we're really looking forward to seeing them again. so come on down!

Darn,
Thought we could get ourselves a convoy... I've never been to Kansas before, might have to make a detour. =)

You are very welcome to do so. Email me if you get serious about it and I'll get you the rv park info or make a reservation for you. We're actually on the Missouri side of Kansas City. Independence, MO. If you like history, there's a ton of it here, from the Harry Truman home, his Presidential Museum, beginning of the Oregon Trail, historical markers downtown, and more. All within a few blocks of here.

And if you want some gorgeous scenery along an interstate on the way here, consider dropping down to I-70 through Colorado. There's some long grades but I pulled it with a Ford V10 gasser and this Montana so your Duramax might make it, too.

steve, Don't tell Montana Sky how exciting I-70 across Kansas is. we are going to be going thru chicago area on Sat or Sunday before the Rally. Of course he could follow the Oregon trail across Nebraska.

Paul and Jan,
I got your PM, I am not sure I will be in the Joliet area on that weekend. As time gets closer I will send you an email if I am there, and we can plan to get together for dinner or something. I hope you are going to stay in the area for the rally...

On a side note, I used to live around the Papillion/Bellevue area as well as the Omaha area sometime back. I have sure had my share of trips across NE. The funny part is how attached to South Dakota I am, I-90 is usually on my route no matter where I go in these great states of ours. =)

Steve,
If I get the urge to detour my trip a little more, I will be sure to let you know. Sounds like a very interesting place around you. =)
