"DVD/Video Player"

We were checking out the video player, surround sound etc… in the camper we just got; we discovered that we need the remote control for the system in order to get the DVD player to work. Obviously, we didn’t get one with it. It looks like a great system and it sounds terrific but we’re unable to find the remote for it. I wanted to get more information on what I needed before presenting the problem to the dealer.

I’ve looked through the manuals and it gives no information on how to contact the manufacture. I’m not even sure who the manufacture is. All I can find is the copyright protection by MACROVISION. Anyone else using this same system or have any contact information on the manufacturer?

Thanks!

Bill,
You may have one of those units like I had in my 08. Yes, No-Name. Mine pooped out after one hour & I replaced it with an RCA unit.

Would one of those universal remotes from Wally World work?

By any chance do you still have the remote for it?

I had probably the same one; no brand name on the unit, the remote, or the manual. It quit last year and I replaced it with a Panasonic. Unfortunately, I took the whole thing to Best Buy for recycle so I do not have the remote either.

What model of Montana do you have and what identifying marks are on the DVD player? There's a remote that'll work out there somewhere with your name on it!!

The first one in our unit went out in 8 months the replacement went out in 6 months and Keystone replaced it. Before it arrived I bought a Pioneer receiver/amp and Pioneer DVD player. Never had a problem since. The original manufacture went out of business in 2008 or 2009.

I have the remote that came with our 2007. I think it`s the one you need, it`s beige with just the words DVD Video on it.
PM me your address and I will give it to you.

It's probably a Quest 4000 who, as was mentioned, is out of business. Since Ron has the same model year, you're probably in luck.

There's got to be a label somewhere with a model number. Isn't this required for the safety agency labels for this type of equipment? It might be on the back or on the bottom of the unit.

You could probably buy a universal remote but without the make or model it will be difficult to find a code for the programming, but there is always start at 000 and go up from there. When you finally find out what the code is, write it down on some paper and tape it to the unit (not the remote because it will eventually wear off - ask me how I know).

Getting a replacement remote might be so difficult and more expensive than it's worth especially if it's made by the company that was defunct. Hookman might have the best idea if Ron's doesn't work out.
