used the airbags and went to green leaf state park over memorial day weekend, did make a big differnce in the ride and felt good back there
my ride height is 24" from center of tire to fender well. i took 60 psi to get close and just left them at 60psi ride was good,might have to go to 70 psi to get to ride height. overall loved the airbags and glad that we made the purchase

60 sound a bit high, whats your pin weight? My 2011 has a pin weight of just over 2300 lbs and fully loaded they only take 30 to 40 lbs to level.

maybe, one question then when you air up your airbags do you just level the vechicle or go by the ride height, i measured before installing and was 24'' from center of wheel to bottom of wheel well fender, i figured once hooked up then just add air to get back to that height, but that might be too much then because i was at 60 psi and not quite 24'' from center. but was close. am i missing something or thinking wrong.

Unsprung measurement is always going to be high in the rear. You should shoot for the overall hook up being level ... fiver not nose high nor tail low. Although I have a 1 ton, I run 20 psi to level my setup out.

Before hooking up and with air bags at 10psi I measure the top of the wheel to the bottom of the corresponding wheel well. It measures about 10.5". Then I hitch up the rig and inflate so that the gap is again 10.5". It takes about 55-60 lbs. I might use less so the trailer rides more level, but I do definitely have a sag if I don't air up.

If you like the ride and you are within psi, then it's all about what you like. I don't tow level but at last check I was only 1 or 2 degrees high and I recall this was okay. I still have about 7" clearance between the bed rails and the underside of the trailer and 6" is recommended. No complaints here. In fact, me and DW love the air bags. They did make a positive difference.

I have a lighter tongue weight than most and use 32psi to bring the truck to normal height. I measured from the ground to the bumper empty and brought it back to that height with rig hooked up. Rides great and my headlights are adjusted properly. I set the presets on my compressor remote to 5psi and 32psi. Only takes a couple seconds to change the pressure. I wouldn't be without it.

I run about 40 lbs, and it keeps mine just about level.

I can adjust on the fly so put just enough air in to take out the chucking. Usually 40 psi, but on a real rough concrete highway I sometimes bump it up to 45 psi.

The bags are rated conservatively for 100 psi so 60 should be no prob at all. Your truck appears in your sig pic to be a bit tail high though, so unless you need it to be at the unloaded ride height you might allow it to settle a bit more by using less air. I assume the 60 lbs you mention is with the weight on the truck?
I air mine up before hitching to around 40-45 and it jumps to about 60 or so with the weight on it. But I don't have stock springs and my trailer sits a little bit nose high due to my trucks height.
Play around with the pressure to see where it rides best.

My truck likeise sits tail high when no load is in the bed. I have experimented with air bag pressures and dialed in my pressure before hitching up the 5er to be in the area of 23 pounds. Once trailer is hitched and trailer fully loaded, I place a level on the bed rails and confirm truck is riding level . Depending on road conditions, I may air her up a few extra pounds.

wow that has to be stiff! on my ford I would put no more than 35 lbs and that was a bit on the high side too, my 2980RL has one of the higest pin weights for it size of all the montanas. just a Q why are you trying to get it to the height of a empty truck? headlights? or looks.

Hey Don, Good point, .. just leveling out the truck is fine for my rig. Unloaded height of rig is "tail high" - just removing the sag- rides great with 5er hooked and rig level - (I only put in 23 pounds)
