Wet bolts installed

I just finished installing wet bolts on the 5er. This was my 1st real suspenion repair on any vehicle I've owned so I want to THANK everyone who posted comments on MOC and E-mails I recieved to help me with the install. Now it took me much longer than most but I like to take my time it would have been easier w/ with helper. Without the tread I wouldn't have attempted this project.I guess I had about 26k on the 5er towing. I didn't expect to see that much wear on those parts I replaced. I feel I would have broken at least one of the center hangers on my summer trip or more. So again Thanks to All who helped. Jack

Congratulations. It is satisfying, isn't it, when you tackle a pretty big job and get it done properly.

Jack,

Wet Bolts are on my list of thing to do. Just need time away from work to do it. Next long trip will be Fall Rally, so maybe I can get it done before then. I think I have around 15,000 miles on the Monty right now.

Should be easier now that I have BigFoot installed, and can press a button and get all four tires off the ground.

Did you take any pictures?

Way to go, we had oval bolt holes with less than 10,000 miles.

With Bigfoot and a small jack you should have them installed in a couple of hours if you don't have to cut any of the old bolts out.

Ron H. thanks for the instructions Tweetys don't put them in the box. Also someone posted to have it hooked to TV to save the landing leg well I read that after I jacked up the dr. side I didn't hurt anything but it was 10 times harder to jack up on blocks when unhooked than hooked to TV. Thanks again, Jack

So which one does everyone use, the Dexter HD suspension kit or Mor/Ryde wet bolt. I have have the Mor/Ryde thing in the middle, looks like Dexter HD suspension kit would replace that. Not sure which would be better on 2010 Montana.

The Dexter HD suspention kit is for those without Mor/Ryde suspention.

John Mit want to check you may already have them. I have a 2010 and it came from the factory with wet bolts. It was a mid year change for 2010.
