Belldog,

Have you checked to see if your fridge is on the recall list?

Send a message via AIM to Fire1
There are two reset buttons under the cover in the back of the refer. (outside)
Check to see if they tripped. The are on the right of the compartment un der a metal cover.

Ours did not work on delivery and we found that the 110v was not pluged in at the factory. Worked great on Gas but not on 110V

Also if the coach battery is dead it will not work either.

If yours is within the three year parts warranty, call Dometic and tell them the problem.

If none of the other suggestions work, the circuit board is a distinct possibility. If you are outside of warranty, consider the Dinosaur brand replacement board. They're generally considered much more robust and reliable than the OEM board.

Belldog, you may well have hit the nail squarely. The refrigerator requires a 12v source to run the control board. Even when hooked up to shore power it still requires juice from the battery. If the battery is not up to snuff, then that's your problem. Sorry we didn't think of that. Most of us who replied to you knew that but I, at least, didn't even think about it until you mentioned it. Let us know if you get this solved for sure.

Won't the converter send the necessary power to devices that require it even without a battery? I thought that is what they were for. So as long as shore power is operating shouldn't/wouldn't the converter supply the required electricity?

One of these days I guess I could actually go out and check it myself by disconnecting the batteries. But I'll bet we have folks on here who already know the answer.

Thanks,

HamRad

The refrig needs 9.6v for the controls to work.

Belldog,

How is the other 12v equipment running. I had this happen and found that I blew a fuse on the converter. The first thing that I noticed was the frig but upon investigation I had lost all 12v.

If that is the case, I found my converter behind the fuse box on my Mountaineer. I had to unscrew the entire fuse box and pull it out. The converter was in the dead space behind the box. It had 2 30 amp circuits.

Good luck!
