How Many Nights of Camping Do You Do

Ok so trying to find some new spots and see what everyone else is sort of doing.

We try to get in 60 Nights per year but lately we have been going further away and the prices of the better CampGrounds are close to $100 per night.

We stopped paying for the yearly membership of Thousand Trails bc their campgrounds sites are going downhill and having to run around to try and find a spot on a popular week is tough.

We have friends that FT and TT works for them but not ya Part Timers, so we will see what everyone else says

We are long timers. We spend 6 months in Florida so that is 180 days plus 4 down and 4 back. We coil up at our S&B during the summer months and do a summer trip in whatever direction we decide. We have been doing that since 2006 and have done over 100K miles and I think every State. We also do rallies here and there across the country like the up coming MOC fall rally. We do not keep a record but we do at least 230 days maybe more on the road every year.

We have never paid close to 100.00 for a campground. We use passport America and we have the KOA presidents club. We have a lot in Florida. We do not and never have belonged to a membership camping club.

We use a 2008 F-350 LB,CC, dually Diesel and a 2013 3402 Big sky it is our second Montana as we wore out a 2006 3400.

Rv'ing is not a cheap endeavor Diesel fuel and C.G's are a big hit on the pocketbook.

If you plan on doing a lot of travel or Full time /long time as we do we would recommend the largest 5th wheel RV your budget can bear. You will be spending a lot of time living in it and will need all the space you can get..

What ever you want to do you will find a way to do it. It is a great lifestyle.

We were doing 30-35 per year. But due to DW’s mother’s (now 95) health issues, the last 3 yrs have been minimal due to DW not wanting to get to far away.

We are not retired yet so mostly weekends (I would estimate about 40-50 nights/year). Here in Arkansas we are blessed with really reasonably priced state and COE campgrounds. Even the premium private (Catherine’s Landing) is only $55 per night

However when we retire we plan to do exactly as rich and winter in Florida. Only difference is we are thinking about buying a small tract of land to stay in Florida. Perhaps even with enough room for a couple other friends. Needless to say we are researching that quite a bit further but are hoping it will be less expensive and certainly less crowded than the snowbird camps

We full time and have two home bases, one in NM and one in KS but we do have something to contribute. Since we have significant expenses at the home bases we save where we can when we travel. We have a Senior Pass from the feds so when we stay at a Corp of Engineers park (usually very nice) we can get a 50 amp site for $10 per night. We also use Passport America for low cost stops, Overnightrvparking.com to find places to boondock and discounts from Good Sam or Escapees the rest of the time.

We are a few years from the Senior pass but you can bet we will be getting one first day we can. Hard to beat that discount!! I doubt you could live that cheap any other way

We do have Passport and Good Sam

Your right about COE parks

We average 60-90 nights a year. We have payed over $100 a night for the right campground in the right place but also boondock for $0 a night. We like going different places seeing new things and typically don't stay in the same place for much more than a week at a time. We typically do a long summer trip of 4-8 weeks and then several week long trips later in the year. Our rig never sits very long and we chase good weather to minimize the need for a/c or winterizing the rig. They have wheels for a reason.

I have a Golden Access Passport and find many of the federal parks give you a fairly small discount using it. We also use some of the military campgrounds.

We are fulltimers from the west coast currently travelling in the eastern part of the US. We do service projects with a Christian RV group, SOWERS, so three weeks of the month our fees are $0. We are finding that the campground fees and diesel prices are higher here on the right coast than they are on the left coast. Travelling in between projects we use Good Sam or KOA.

After 12 years of travels across the USA and Canada--we got to 45 states--that is enough for us. We have just made reservations at our favorite RV Park-Blue Spruce near Durango, CO, for 2 months July-Sept for the next 3 years. How many nights--around 80 to 90 per year and I keep the old 2006 Monty in very good shape--the decals are not included! All of our experiences have been great with lots of great new friends!

We still like our stick house and the 4 seasons in NJ. Because the cost of campgrounds continue to rise, we only spend about 100 days on the road- about 75 days (January to March) in Florida and about 30 days during autumn foliage time.

Our average for the past 9 years was about 85. This year will be in the 50 nights range as my DW has had some innard problems that will keep us from any lengthy trips. Her problems are clearing up, so, hopefully next year as long as my eye problems don't worsen. It's h3ll getting old!!

Oh and the most we have paid/night is about $55.

Wow! I have been camping for over 30 years, and I have yet to pay close to $100 for a campsite. I get nervous paying that much for a hotel room. We camp about 100 or more nights as year, including our time in the RGV.

We have traveledl for 90 to 180 nights yearly. have paid (one trip only) $80 plus for a few nights, but plan to pay $100 per night (once in a lifetime trip) this coming year for an average quality park located in the right spot.

We average about 280 nights a year. Of that on the road maybe 50 nights and drive up to 6 or 7000 miles a year.

Of those 280 nights is 90 or so nights living in the rig in CA near my Tax office. So not all fun camping. But it does pay for all our travel with lots left over.

If you plan a trip to Disney world you will pay 100.00 a night or More for a site at Ft Wilderness but it is the best deal for lodging in the park and you get the same perks as the most expensive lodging.
