TV Antenna
Just wondering if it is me. When I get set up I raise the antenna and let the tv auto program the channels available so I can get local. This works pretty good at night. Next day I go to look at some of the same channels I looked at the night before and it says no signal found. Come night the same channels are back. Seems they only come out at night. Anybody else have this problem?

I have experienced the same thing especially since the conversion to digital TV. I have found most times I can rotate the antenae and get the channels to come in. I suspect I am getting the antenae more in line with the station but not sure why it changes from day to night. Could have something to do with scheduled power reduction. Jim

I remember the old AM radio days when you could listen to Cleveland from WV at night, yet never had a chance at reception during the day. Have no clue as to whether that is related or not, but it did bring back some memories!!

You are experiencing the effect of the sun on radio wave propagation.
We claim the UHF TV signals are "LINE OF SIGHT", however that may be a little extension over the horizon. The changes in the atmosphere because of the sun heating it effects the propagation.

It seems even at night the signal will get distorted sometimes like direct tv does during a storm. Thinking maybe my batwing is going bad.

We experience this a lot where we camp. I believe it’s because of being in a bad area for reception or just simply too far away to pick it up. The digital seems to be more sensitive to reception anyway, you either get a signal or you don’t. No more of the fuzzy snowy pictures that can be watched a little bit. We can tune in different channels by adjusting the antenna but I believe when this happens we’re usually on the verge of not getting any reception at all. It will come & go and sometimes we experience some pixel distortion.
