Pad for table top BBQ grill

Bought a Magma tabletop stainless BBQ grill recently. Have used it at home (to make sure it worked OK). I know it generates a fair amount of heat underneath. I am concerned about damaging a campground picnic table as most I've seen are either wood or plastic. I read somewhere (probably on this site) that one could get a large ceramic floor tile to put under it while on the picnic table. I would like to get something lighter in weight. Any suggestions?
