Small ELECTRIC Air Compressor for Monty Tires

Can anyone suggest a small electric air compressor to use on my Montana Tires?

Harbor Freight has one that is a 12v unit but it does take a while for it to pump up the Monte tires especially if you have G rated ones and are running them at 100-110lb. I carry a Craftsman in our unit. It is a l20v unit so I need to be around city power or use an inverter but it works great.

I use one that I bought at lowes because price was right. 120vac pancake air tank 150psi...downside of being light is it is pretty noisy. John

Don't buy one of the little cheap ones you find for $25-30 at Walmart, Target, etc. I tried two of them. First failed during first use. Assuming it was faulty I returned it for another. It failed during the second use.

I use a Viair 400P-RV. Has everything I need. Little pricey but doesn't take too long for 110 psi. Hook to truck battery and go up to 50'.

Same here. Have an inverter if I need to use while on the road.

Got a Slime 120 lb DC compressor from Amazon that has battery clips (not the cigarette lighter thing that won't deliver the amperage needed). I've used it several times for a tire that picked up a nail, was plugged, but the plug didn't seal well. Some liquid Slime fixed that, but I had to let all the air out and then refill the tire to 80 psi - while in a campground. It's also topped off my truck tires several times as well. Comes in a little briefcase kind of box. Great little unit - not fast, but gets the job done for only a few pounds weight.

I have one I got at Northern Tool. It about the size of a gallon milk jug its 110 volt. I've had it several years and used it a lot. It's slow but will get the job done.

X2 - this Viair is much smaller than a compressor with a reserve tank (you don't need a tank filling up a tire). Works on 12 volts because you are not always around 120 volt power. Good quality - max pressure is 150 PSI.

Good to see I made the right choice like a bunch of responders here with the Porter Cable 150# pancake compressor. I had a 100# unit, but could barely get the 80# needed for LRE tires. Very happy with the Porter Cable - Home Depot, $99. If you have LRG tires and need to get to 110# pressure, it's the way to go. Fits just right in the front compartment too. I put a 110V outlet in the front to power it.

X3 on the Viair 400p-RV. Yes it is not inexpensive, but it is high quality and will take a Sailun S637 from 65psi to 105psi in about 2 minutes. They are currently available on Amazon for about $250.

I wanted something that didn't take up a lot of room, didn't weigh a lot, and was 12vdc. The Viair 400P-RV met all my needs except that budget thing. Oh well, three out of four ain't so bad. If you have the budget for it the Viair is the way to go.
