Recommend a good tire chock please

For years we used a BAL scissor tire chock system on our 2005 Montana. What I have found with our 2015 with the Morryde upgrade is that the tie chock that worked flawlessly on our 2005 actually falls out of the 2015 because the suspension is much different. Can anyone recommend a good chocking system to use? I am not looking for the small yellow plastic guys you buy at WalMart. I want something that expands between the tires to secure the trailer while hooking and un hooking.

Thanks

Just curious ... although I have one of the BAL scissor chocks I use the Wally World yelow ones... what shortcomings do you have with the little yellow ones just to hold the fiver in place? It would take a fair amount of push and shove before you topped a couple.

When I went to IS I went back to regular chocks and haven't had any kind of issue.

I like my little yellow chocks. They shatter to very tiny pieces when you forget to remove them, though. I keep extras handy. Good thing they're cheap.

I have the X chocks for between the tires on each side and I also carry a set of heavy duty rubber chocks that I purchased at Harbor Freight. I mainly use them on concrete> I do have the regular yellow plastic chocks but only use them when the Monte is in the Monte Home at the farm when stored and not in use!

I have yet to use any chocks! I haven't parked yet in a place that has enough slope to ever worry about. By time the 6 leveling feet get planted, there is enough friction that it would take a head-on hurricane to move it. I do carry chocks, I just haven't had a reason yet to place them. I'm sure it will happen. Probably boondocking somewhere. I have been in parking lots that had the slope, but the trailer stays attached to the truck for those one-night stops.

I always used 4 short pieces of treated 4x4's between the trailer tires. Finally broke down and got the little yellow ones mainly because they store a little better while towing.

Always believed in chocking no matter what the site looked like. Who knows when mother nature will come calling at 3am with 70mph winds or some idiot will come through the campground drunk and run into your Montana going 30mph. Not like a semi trailer, these wheels aren't locked when our Montana's are unhooked.

Well I was not going to reply since he said not interested in the little yellow ones. But looks like I am in the majority since I have never used anything except the little yellow ones in 8 yrs.

I still use these. I cut the edge off each piece so it snugs up against the tire.

The yellow plastic chocks slide too easily and break periodically after being baked in the sun. Harbor Freight (yea I know) has a rubber chock that doesn't slide or break for an inexpensive price.

I find that after chocking and setup, I need to recheck the X-chocks because they get loose. I believe it's because when I first apply them the tires might be hot and more inflated. Then the tires cool down and well, you'll find loose X-chocks. We were at Yosemite on an unlevel (front to back) site and DW thought she felt the RV sliding downwards, ever so slightly. I went outside, checked the X-chocks and yup, they were loose. Fortunately the slope was slight. I now check the X-chocks regularly until the tires have 'cooled' down enough, then no more looseness.

I could use chocks like what DuneBuggyBuilder shows, but it's more to store and carry. One day I will get those for extra chocking. Handmade chocks and blocks like others use would work well too, but seem to be heavier (I'm a keep it lightweight, kind of guy).
