Under refrigerator storage

Under refrigerator storage

After seeing a couple of post here that talked about making the area under their refrigerator a storage area I decide to do that today.

Well I get the cover off and here is what I found.

Can anyone tell me what they are and can I relocate them without any problem.

They are screwed to the floor.

Phil. Those are connectors for 120vac. The yellow is for 12g wire, the white is for 15g wire.

The yellow and white wires are solid wire and the black are stranded.

My guess is the black ones go to a slide. They will allow flex of slide going in and out while the solid yellow and white can not.

If the area in question is in a slide, this is where they convert the stranded wire that feeds the slide to solid which is what the slide is wired with.

Just tidy up what you have and secure to the back or side wall and go on. If you need to unplug the connectors, to tidy up, remember there is 120vac at the connectors.

Thanks

The real mystery is why 3 wires?

I am not sure they are 12V both cables go back in the floor so there isn’t any movement in this location. I have unscrewed them from the floor and screwed one to a 1x2 on the front wall the other I will fasten to the secure on with cable ties.

This is the power for the refrigerator. Just bundle up and move to the side and you will have a nice storage area.

The additional 120 volt cable may be for the microwave and 120 volt outlet. They would bring them all in at the same point under the slide.

Phil P: We did the same thing as you in our 2007 3400RL and we put our vacuum net bag with the vacuum hose and all the attachments. Worked great for 8 years without a problem. The new 2014 Big Sky has a very nice wide drawer under the fridge.

Great Job!
