Well Walt everyone is making up their own rules so if your map represents 'everywhere as a couple' then I say put Hawaii back on BUT, whatever you do, don't forget to fill out the spreadsheet!

Some where down the road we may have to 'require' disclaimers so that we know what form of map it represents (I.e. this map is in no way meant to imply that this rig has been to all of the represented states but that the couple who owns the rig has placed their feet upon the ground in said states, lands, provinces, and our continents)!

I'm with Larry. I think they can be fun, but if it's causing a concern that's not what camping is about. I gave up bragging when I discovered I'm not the man I never was. Now that I'm retired and not competitive (much) anymore I'm enjoying life more. Long way to say, just do what makes you happy.

WOW tanner1070 that is harsh! New rig equals starting all over again?!
Not that harsh Carol...just motivation to get the new rig on the road again and see everything I missed the first time!

All in fun DQDick. No competition here, at least not until I can officially mark Hawaii then it is ON! I will beat all of you!

To me the map is just a conversation starter. I have stopped to talk to many people about there maps.

I get it now Tanner1070. It is driving me crazy that Washington and Oregon are not filled in yet. The map looks funky that way so I guess we have to get on the road so we can fill those in!

Okay when i was a little camper my aunt and uncle told me that some states allowed your vehicle occupants to travel in the fiver while it was being driven down the hyw, so carol here's another scenerio if someone is sleeping in the fiver while its being towed thru said state are you only allowed to fill in half the state's map.

If we have spent the night in this current Montana. If we can not get the Montana to Hawaii it will not be on our map.

We mark all of the states we have camped in, even if it was at Wal-Mart RV Park.

I'm thinking that requirement may make for an awful lot of blank maps!

Simonsrf you cracked me up!!! I wonder if that is part of the instructions on the map itself?!

I agree with seahunter that they may make for a lot of empty maps!!!

I will have to include whether someone slept in the fiver while we were traveling as part of our rules!

I was reading this topic to my dad and he was cracking up. He said he had no idea there were so many things to consider before filling in the map! At least now we know to ask everyone what their map represents!

This topic has been a fun one for me! I hope it has been fun for everyone else too! A bit of humor in your day is oh so important!

And let us not forget our furry little friends. They have to have a map too. Since they sleep all the time anyway, the requirement of sleeping in the state would be easy, and well, I'm not even going to touch pets with regard to Robbie's requirement...

Oh yes we HAVE to remember our furry friends! I definitely do not want to consider Robbie's requirement though....I also don't know how to include Robbie's requirement on the spreadsheet...would that be a charted item or a column with an X?!

That is too funny Robbie...for some of us(who have a 6yr old) it might mean a month or two! Now you have to wonder if I am kidding or not!

Okay...so I felt that I needed to put a disclaimer on my map in my signature so here it is!

OK, this map represents 4 fifth-wheel trailers, 4 Chevrolet pickups, and a bit over 15 years--no full time, just travelers. Two big state remain: Washington and Oregon. We hope to fill them in, maybe this year. States we have filled in, but not stayed in: Vermont, New Hampshire, Iowa (long story but had to move over into South Dakota because of campground), and Oklahoma (because we were so close to home we cruised on by our intended stop.)

This has been a great thread, and our maps are a symbol of our own enjoyable memories.

That is great David! My map looks so wimpy compared to yours! That is pretty amazing considering you are NOT fulltimers!!! Our map includes three states that we have not stayed in (California, Nevada, and of course Hawaii!)! This has been a LOT of fun!

By the way David there is a Rally in Washington in the beginning of June so that would give you a reason to fill that state in! We are thinking of going there!
