Best Test - SANDY!
Well, the coach is going to get a nice test the next few days with Sandy blowing thru....estimated 75 MPH winds with 4 to 10 inches of rain thru Wednesday! Started gathering wood last week to being the build of the ARC and noticed several pairs of birds, cats and other critters gathering around the camp...Hmmm!
GOD willing and the creek don't rise (too much) we ride Sandy out and assess later!
Hope and pray anyone else in the path of this massive storm has no issues!

We pulled the camper home yesterday after a weekend away and parked it on the concrete pad at home. I chocked the wheels and closed the slides. Not really sure what else to do. Maybe keeping the truck attached might keep it anchored a little better. Our home is in a very open area high and dry but the wind has done damage to the roof and siding in the past! I guess we see how it all goes. Stay safe!!

At 9:00 AM the rain started and wind picking up. Montana is parked along side the garage and I don't expect any problems with it. What happens with trees, house and roof we will see. Got lots of wood brought up for the fireplace, 5 - 5 gallon buckets filled with water (we have a well and once power goes no more water for toilet flushing). Generator and extra gas on the deck to run my refrig, freezer, TV, etc. Have extra food, bottled water, milk and Scotch so we're in good shape! I think!

Should get pretty wild on Long Island. Parked the truck and trailer in a clearing and jack knifed the truck 90 degrees to help steady the trailer. Hope it works. Good luck to all in it's path. John

We are also bunkered down. The RV is in the garage dry warm and cozy and all staples are bought and essentials in place. Genny on the porch. We will ride it out and pray for the best. We do how ever have a close widow friend who refused to leave her home in Lewis beach. We are really worried about her. Why people do this to their selves and families I have no idea. We are staying in close touch with her. At this point to late to get her out so we are praying that the 16 ft waves and tide do not reach her. She is not on the direct coast line but still in a low lying area. Hope everyone on the east coast remains safe and sound.

We are also in SW PA...Pine Grove. Some rain and constant wind...not real bad yet (1 PM). According to the news, we are in Sandy's path, so we shall see what happens!

Bill and Cindy-- I thought the Weather Channel said the govenment (city and state) have ordered all reseidents out of the low areas! Your friend will be needing assistance eventually and thus putting the reponders in danger also. Don't understand people like this! Hope all along the coast there stay safe and hope to hear all goes well for you all!

In Maine, the wind has started to pick up and the rain is more consistent. The weather forecast is for us to get the worse sometime tonight. We are in pretty good shape, our stove is gas, (so I can cook), we have a wood stove, have flashlights and candles and have our Yamaha 2000 generator for the frig and TV. We bought the generator last year in case we dry camped but have not yet used it.
Hopefully the 5th wheel will be okay. Last month we had 13 trees taken down, now I just have the neighbors trees to worry about. Wish the best for all in harms way and stay safe!

Not to bad here in the mountains of Central PA. Lots of wind, but the mountain ridges really slow it down in the valleys. About 6 inches of rain so far to make the sump pumps run. Monty generator plugs into the house through a transfer switch so I really don't worry about power outages.
Think I'll have another drink!

Thank you to all for the prayers! We thankfully made it thru Sandy but what a ride in the Poconos. 70 MPH winds kept the trailer rockin for better part of Monday night into Tuesday morning. Power went out around Monday at 9 pm and was out until last night around 10 pm. We are one of the lucky ones. Our family and friends in NJ and NYC area are devistated! Keep all these folks in your prayers as they need all the comfort and support they can get and then some.
