Why do they have to do that!

My wife and I seem to have a continuing problem and would like to know if its just us. It seems everytime we find a spot to park with the 5vr, we walk away with no vehicles in sight and sure enough, when we return, there is someone parked blocking us in! We look around and see several empty spots, but no, they think its cute to make us wait.

Last week, we took our 16 ft utility down to Oregon, got a motel and pulled way back in the lot to stay out of everyones way. Parked and awoke to a car in the next stall. Took alot of multi point turns to clear it and leave. Whats up with that???

We took our show car to a motel in Fla. You guessed it, not only did someone park beside it, they opened their car door into it! Noone else on that side of the motel that night, but they had to park beside our car.
Our 2002 GMC truck has no dings in it from any doors, go figure.

Since the cars have a lot of metal it them, it must be just your magnetic personality.

That is easily remedied, just leave them a pile of crumpled metal. A door with a large percent of paint missing works too..

Using my Chevy dually as my daily driver, I always park in the north 40 of the parking lots and never fails, I come out and cars on either side of me. I think they like parking next to beautiful rigs.....

Steve and Lori,
One of my biggest fears is exactly what you posted. So I always park with my nose pointed in the direction of my intended departure. I try to take up at least one parking space in front of me. And I try to take up enough space so that no one would want to park there. So far it has worked well.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I am recovering from cataract surgery and am having great difficulty seeing things clearly. Hopefully in a day or two I'll get some reading glasses.

Good subject. Thanks for posting. Dennis

Like HamRad, we always stop so that the truck is angled out of the space. The only way to block us in would be to park in the lane. Occasionally I might say it was an accident, but let's face it some people lead unhappy lives and feel they should share it.

Back it in and drive out. I have a real nice trailer hitch and ball in the receiver for anybody dumb enugh to get too close and get there front end grill work done. I believe walking a distance from the parking lot to the store helps a little. as for the motel thing I would have went to the manager and had them wake up the owner and have them move the vehicle. I dont think doing damage will help it just puts you in jeperdy of a law suite, but letting the air out of a tire works good just time for for them to get it aired up.
