Very sad. The responsible person will have to live with this for the rest of their lives.

I cannot imagine the grief that the responsible person will live with for the rest of their life! To lose a child is tragic beyond belief but to be directly responsible would be unbearable!

The person that left a loaded gun in the vehicle glove box or anywhere else was like Dumb and Dumber, did he have a permit to carry? and if not the gun was supose to be locked up in a case, at least in California it the law, and the bullets will be locked or carries away from the gun while in transit. to bad for the baby because somebody was stupid.

Don is on the right track on this ... control of the weapon is the responsibility of the possessor of the weapon regardless of whether they have a CC permit or not. This is why I advocate on person carry with 100% control at all times. Tragedies like this are avoidable. No comfort, however, to those dealing with the terrible aftermath.

this is why I prefer a pistol over a revolver. You can have rounds in the clip but no round chambered. It does not take long to chamber a round and it is a added safety factor. In Ohio one can carry a weapon in the glove box or center console unlocked..with a CC.
