B-17 & B-25

For all you aviation Buff's out there!

Go "full screen" and turn-up the volume! WOW!
The photography is HD, the planes are gorgeous, and, most notably, it is shot as the B17 takes off from Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ and then flies over the Superstition Mountains. to the east of Apache Junction and then on to Roosevelt & Canyon lakes on the east edge of the Phoenix valley. The backdrops are stunning. Music is from the mini series John Adams. Great combo.

Very good. My FIL was a teen aged B 25 pilot in the short war (WW II).

My late uncle Fred was also a very young B25 Driver in the Pacific in WW-2. He survived. we have privately owned flyable B-25 here at our regional airport.

Great video Jack. I along with mocer Steves visited the Pima Air Museum in Tucson recently and got a tremendous appreciation of the history and use of the B17 Flying Fortress. The 390th Memorial Museum has a tremendous display on crews and an actual B17 at the museum. It's really worth a visit for anyone going or in the Tucson area.

Thank you from a former CAF member and daughter of deceased CAF member. My Dad was a member of the Gulf Coast Wing, then based at Ellington AFB near Houston. He helped gut and restore the Texas Raiders B-17. When he passed away, his wish was to be cremated and dispersed from the plane over the Gulf of Mexico. Thanks to the members of the Wing, this was accomplished and I personally was on board and released my Dad's creamains through an overhead hatch.

I have flown in twin-engine planes, aboard large jets crossing the Atlantic, in choppers and a hot air balloon. The B-17 was the smoothest of them all. I swear that plane knew what we were doing that day.

Cheers again for the video!

One of the most beautiful aircraft ever built IMO. If you guys are ever by the GA/FL border I highly recommend stopping at the 8th airforce museum off of I-95. You'll spend all day in there.
