Air compressor

I have a Sears Craftsman 3-gallon 1 HP, 125 psi air compressor. The specifications say nothing about start up or running wattage. Honda Generator web page says a 1 HP compressor takes 4500 watts start up and 1500 running wattage. That sounds like a lot. I quess my Honda 2000 will not run the compressor????. Up the creek without a paddle.

Your specification tag on the compressor may have the start-up amperage listed as well as the running amps. If I remember right, you multiply the amperage by the voltage to get the watts.
(10 amps X 120 volts = 1200 watts ). Hope this helps. Bob

I tried running my Emglo 1HP on the Honda 2000 today and had the same results as you did. I would have to hook up the second Honda with the parallel cable to use the air compressor if it was needed.
