Gen-set ready, Autoformer, Surge?????

I know everyone is probably getting tired of the same line of questioning but we are advancing to the next phase of a couple of thousand dollars in additions and obviously I don't want to mess it up. First question...with a gen-set ready rig, I assume these can be converted to a 30 amp or 50 amp plug at the front of the rig, correct?? Second question, with a hard-wired autoformer and surge suppressor installed, the forum has taught me that there has to be a bypass switch for the generator operation, therefore, is this switch already built into to the gen-set prep??? Simply put can the autoformer and surge protector be installed directly into the main shore line intake separately from the generator or are all the systems (gen-set prep) tied together?? As always thanks for any guidance.

Bingo,
Most generators don't like the autoformer (why would you want one with a generator that you control?) and/or surge guard. The experts will be along and give you some guidance on bypass switches and how to connect.

Yes, and I have a generator installed. You need to install the autoformer into the line that comes from the back of your unit, that goes into this box. That way when you run your generator the autoformer will not be in the circuit. This only applies if you are installing a factory type generator that will work through the transfer switch.
