I have had it with cable!
We have gone through 12 cable DVD Tivo-type boxes, had 3 weeks of frustration and incompetence when the install and change-over from Direct TV. Our newest cable box-recorder is not working correctly, so I am bailing out enough is enough!
We are looking at AT&T U-verse, anyone have any feedback on them?
We want Internet, TV, and program recording capability.

We don't have it, but we have friends (former MOC members) who are VERY happy with it!

I don't have any feedback about AT&T or phone services....I'm here to complain about my cable box too!! We changed over to the HD DVR cable service a year ago and are now on the 5th cable box. We were told by one service person that the hard drive in the boxes are to blame. Slow when surfing channels, screen flipping while the service tries to find the signal, etc. Still love the concept, just wish they could make a better product!!

Ozz, I have had both satellite systems and one cable system and had problems with all of them. We are now with ATT Uverse for our TV, phone and computer. Happy as a lark plus the DVR boxes will record 4 channels at once and you can watch any recording on any box in the house. We have 2 one in the Florida room and one in the bedroom. Plus I like the high speed we get for computer.

Ozz
We have all three from AT&t The only issues we have had is once in a while we have to reboot the system. It takes about 10 minutes but nothing to major. The interm=net is fast enough abd teh TV quality is good.
Just our FYI on ATT U verse

This is ok for the stick house for sure. But my concern is what to do when on the road? Just curious how your going to deal with that. At this time we use dish network and we can use it in the stick house and on the road. Just take the receiver with us and we got satellite. Not sure how to do that with cable.

Our TIVO still works without a hitch after 5+years. Very happy with it.
