Possible Converter problem

When I went to take the Monte into the dealer for the "Step Recall", I went to raise the six point and had the controls start beeping for about a 5 second session then off for about 15 seconds then repeat it over and over. There was nothing coming across the message window on the level-up board. I call LCI and they told me it sounded like a bad board and they ran me through the procedure of bringing in the rooms and level-ups via the drill procedure. I unplugged the control panel for the level-up and went in the house for the night.

Called LCI again in the morning and they ran me through the whole procedure again.

Then called the dealer to let them know I'd be late bringing the unit in. The Service Manager at Leach Camper in Council Bluffs, IA asked me a few questions then gave me some things to check. Still nothing.

We then decided to pull out the battery tester and WALA we thought we found the problem. Both batteries were low on charge. Why we don't know because the unit was plugged in the whole time. They were not boiled out because both were full on fluid but the one had gone bad because of the trickle drain of the propane detector and other items in the unit that work off the battery even if the battery cut off switch is off. We hooked up the charger to one at a time and found one battery would not take a charge at all but the other would.

So I left the charger on the good battery and brought in the slides and then the rear level-ups. Brought the TV in and raised the front of the Monte and hooked up. All ready to roll.

Got the Monte into the dealer and we wrote up the problem and they will decide what caused the batteries to go low on charge. They are thinking the converter has gone bad or at least the two fuses on the converter had blown and did not charge the batteries as it was suppose too.

SO watch what goes on with your unit if it is plugged in for any amount of time. I had checked fluids regularly but never put the tester on them so did not realize they were being drained.

I'll post here on the results found when I get them. Thank goodness we took out the extended warranty because it should be covered by it if there is a problem.

Glad you caught it while one battery still worked. Let us know the outcome.
