Brakes - help??
Montana 3970: front brakes appear to be working rear brakes do not. My truck (2017 Ram 3500) shows ‘trailer not connected’ on the dash.
I’ve tried to isolate by pulling the breakaway cord and that’s how I know both fronts engage whereas both rear do not. I’ve found the Blue wire where it feeds the rear wheels and a test light shows pulsing power when the brakes are on.
I think it may be the butt connectors (either power feed or ground) going into the left rear prior to feeding through the axle to the right side!!
Any help to diagnose further would be much appreciated.

Why not just install new wires with wiring external to the axles.

Brakes, axels and wiring are reassembled by axel manufacturers

All four brakes are wired in parallel. The concept is that if 1 brake fails as long as power is supplied to main feed line at least one one or more other brakes will function.
I’d be removing both rear wheels and look at magnets and wires attaching to the magnets on the rear brakes. The wire harness where it mates with the brake magnet is notorious for failing internally.

When I recently replaced all 4 brake assemblies, I soldered the connections and protected with shrink tubing. One less place for them to fail.

Using my infrared heat thermometer, I recently noticed that the ODS rear wheel was running way cooler than the other three wheels. Turns out the brake adjusting wheel was screwed all the way in. A simple brake adjustment and problem solved.

I wonder if they used the wrong adjuster for that brake assembly? Screwed in all the way tells me that the self adjuster worked, that maybe the threads are backwards so the adjuster screw turned in instead of out like what should happen.
