Old RVers/New Montana

Hey everyone - my wife and I have been RVing for the past 16 years when I was still on active duty. We bought our first pop-up then traded up to a small motorhome about a year later. When the kids started coming back in 2003 we decided a trailer would be the best way to go. After buying various tongue pulls and our first 5ver (Wild Cat) we decided it was time to get what we wanted for my eventual retirement. We've always like the Montanas and settled on the 3150RL. With 3 kids there is plenty of room for them to sleep and we love all the room in the bedroom. The hickory cabinets are just gorgeous. We've had a couple of minor issues - shower walls leaked around the bottom but a new bead of silicone fixed that. Also some sealing was necessary to fill gaps where Keystone doesn't use hard fiberglass under the overhang. I have had to relocate a couple of the spools for the day/night shades and have noticed on bracket for a valance isn't secured too well. Minor stuff as on our first trip everything worked exceptionally well. Happy to be a part of the Montana family and hope it's a non-eventful (problem free) life down the road.

Great attitude about the little fixes on your Montana. Just fix it and move on rather than berating imperfect humanity for not producing perfect products. You are going to enjoy your rig. This is a great site for learning from and contributing to the body of knowledge about the Montana and RVing in general. Welcome aboard!!

Congrats on the new Montana. I think you'll be pleased with your 3150RL. If everything goes as planned we will take possession of a 3150RL in a couple of weeks after pulling our 2980RL down the road for the past 6 yrs. You will find this is one of the best forums around. Got a question someone will have the answer. Thanks for serving and enjoy you retirement. Safe Travels.

Thanks to all the replies. Those who don't RV just don't understand how great the lifestyle is and the people who are part of that lifestyle. We plan on being in Yellowstone (Grizzly RV park) and the Tetons the last 2 weeks of June 2011. If you see me give me a yell. Now I just need to win the lottery so I can extend the weekends past the two or three days.

Congratulations and thank you for serving. We're retired Air Force as well, 22 years. Retired in 1995. As you can see from my signature, we also have a 3150RL. We planned for 2 years to get it. You'll really like yours. Enjoy your new rig and welcome to the forum. Many knowledgeable and friendly folks here!
