Myrtle Beach

I plan on being on the beach area for over a month this year. Is there anything I need to do as far as Rv maintenance from sand and salt. Thank you all for any response Ray

Don't know were you are staying. We were just down there for 2 weeks at Huntington Beach State park. If you are truly staying right on the beach and have a level up system, they say to wipe down the legs with hydraulic oil.

We have camped at Assateague State Park here in MD for the last 10 or so years and I can tell you that the salt water sea spray WILL take its toll on metal stuff. Our bikes are all rusty. The screws on the inside of the camper windows look corroded (we like the windows open ). I have noticed surface rust on lots of stuff, like the awning/compartment door gas struts.

Will be staying at lakeside. I am starting to think my 5er and truck will be nothing but rust buckets after a month. They tell me people stay all year around. Guess I better rethink this Thanks

Momma loves the beach and I love to fish so...
Our 2010 Wildcat has been to the beach every year of its life for at least 4 weeks every year. It has very little rust anywhere. I've done nothing but wash it on returning home.

Years of saltwater fishing has taught me to rinse my gear with fresh water asap. I do the same with my truck and campers and never give it another thought.

x2 on this, We camp at the same spots as this fella and yes things will start to rust almost immediately so I hose off the metal on the camper and truck and bikes every 2 days then WD-40 every moving part, it helps but it is a losing battle. Mother Nature always wins.

Like they said, Rub down your strut legs with hydraulic fluid every now and then, And I keep some WD 40 around to spray on hinges or any exposed metal etc. We stay at MB a lot, going back in October, and it hasnt really benn a problem with my truck or the camper.

I keep my truck pretty clean and detailed for sure, and its always washed before we go and as soon as we get back. Just like the camper.

We stay at Lakewood and will be there for a week starting Monday. There is a high berm, you cannot see the water even if on the first row. At night the salt mist rolls in and covers everything. But if you get a site in the center rows of the park, the mist normally does not reach. Can’t see the water anyway, short walk to the berm. Go and have fun.
