Smoke/Fire Detector Chirping
I have a 2018.5 Montana 3921FB (Legacy Edition). My Smoke/Fire Detector just starting chirping after returning home from a week trip. I replaced the 9 Volt Battery and Smoke/Fire Detector is still chirping. I did a search of forum to no avail and I'm stumped as to what to do next . Any suggestions?

Original equipment is from the low bidder. You can get a much better one for very little money.

On a new rig, with all the materials outgassing, it's no surprise that any or all the detectors fail well before their expected life span. Chemicals in the air will shorten the life of the sensors in all these detectors, so once the bulk of the outgassing is done, your replacement detectors should last much longer. We replaced the CO detector first, then came the propane detector, and finally the smoke detector, and all before any five year life. The smoke detector was replaced with a ten year one purchased at Lowes. https://www.lowes.com/pd/First-Alert...ery/1000456453

Thanks for the replies. I see a trip to Lowes in my future.

I only ask this because it causes me difficulty, but are you sure you changed the right detector? At home I have 3 detectors in close proximity. When 1 chirps it drives me crazy trying to figure out which one it is.

Like Theunz, I have a hard time determining whether that chirp is the smoke detector, CO detector, or propane detector. I changed the battery once in my smoke detector only to find out it was the CO detector chirping.

Funny thing mine did the same thing early this morning at about 3:35. Of course it would happen then.
I replaced the battery’s in all the smoke detectors around late March. I bet like others have said the unites are at about the end of their life. Even though it is a 2015 it was bought in July of 2014. Time to head to Lowe’s for new ones.

I thought I had the same problem but discovered that it was the lp gas detector in the kitchen area. Sure sounded like it was coming from the smoke detector but the chirp continued with the battery removed. The label on the lp gas detector said to replace after 5 years and my unit is a 2014 built in 2013. Bought same brand and type detector which made for easy replacement.

We also just installed new detectors in our 2017 3710FL. We went with the 10 year battery, combination smoke/CO detectors.
https://www.lowes.com/pd/First-Alert...ery/1000456445
We only had a CO detector in the bedroom and a smoke detector in the living room. Replaced the CO in the bedroom with the new CO/smoke detector, and placed a second new CO/smoke detector next to the existing one in the living room.
Doing some research, I found that "they" recommend have two different smoke detectors - ionization and photoelectric. The old one was ionization and the new one is photoelectric which is why I kept the old one for now - it hasn't started chirping yet.
