Glen, reminds me too much of my accident I had with the horses a year ago last winter. I had a bumper pull 3 horse slant trailer and I was pulling it with my suburban. We thought we avoided a snow storm that we were tracking but it came in 3 hours to early. A little Ranger pick up sped by me and started to fish tail and just bumped the back of the horse trailer and sent us spinning out of control back and forth over the highway, when it all ended with a HUGH crash. I was certain that a semi had rear ended the horses or on the side of the trailer, but it was the same guy who hit us again. It could of been fatal, no doubt. The horses ended up with minor scraps but the trailer was not driveabe. Luckily our trainer was ahead of me and had room in his trailer for 3 more horses. We had to unload them on the highway and get them into his. Was not fun as it was now a blizzard.
I know the bumper pull is not as stable, but I have heard stories even about goose necks and 5th wheel horse trailers coming up along side of the vehicle too.
