Awesome to the rescue

Dianna tracked globs of gooey tar like stuff on the living and bedroom carpets. We have yet to figure where she stepped into the black stuff. Her tennis shoe was hard enough to clean, but what should I do with the carpets? I had visions of permanent stains.

So I wiped up what I could with paper towels and when for the 10% Awesome solution. I sprayed it on and brushed vigorously with a small shop bristle brush (about the size of a large tooth brush) and then rubbed vigorously with a microfiber cloth. Total Success!!!

I have used Awesome for a lot of outside cleaning such as the molding and awnings, tires and wheels, but never thought about the carpets. Thanks Stiles for sharing the info.

Stiles used a 10% solution, it still works at that light a concentration. 30% takes bacon grease off the stove and counters and shower. 50% for black streaks and tar, full strength for heavy bugs. But at 100% it should be rinsed off. So it is truly Awsome.. Dave

If 10% had not worked, I would have gone to a stronger concentration. I like to use as mild a concentration as possible.

Awesome is sold at a couple of different Dollar stores. You can buy a spray bottle (either 16 or 20 OZ size) and in 1/2 gallon jug. Both are concentrate. I bought the 1/2 gallon jug and 4 empty spray bottles to make up various concentrations according to the instructions on the jug and according to our common uses.

We got it at Dollar Tree. Don't know about now but used to be exclusively there.

It was the ONLY cleaner that got the stains from the trees in Gatlinburg, TN. I used everything I could think of that I had on hand, and then bought several other products. I did have to use the Mr. Eraser lightly with the Awesome.

Thanks for the carpet tip, I have a couple of stains from well meaning visitors.

We found both the small bottle and 1/2 gal. jug at the Dollar General stores in NM and AZ. We had not seen Dollar General stores until we traveled the Midwest so I don't know about the ones in other states.
Happy trails.........................

Does anyone remember the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"? Her father used windex for everything, his arthritis and when the son in law hurt himself and he even wanted her to spray it on a zit she developed right before her wedding. Sounds like Awesome may be even better!!!!!!

I got some of that to help with the black streaks. When I read the container I was afraid to use it after that.
