Okay I have a 2022 f350 king ranch 7.3 motor 10 speed transmission. We are trading in our cougar for a Montana 2021 3761 fl. Anyone pulling with this set up or what’s everyone think of pulling with the set up. Wound be pulling much camper will be set up on a permanent site. But in an emergency storm or something like that would have to move to the house about 25 miles away.

I'm not a Ford guy, but the F350 will do you just fine. If it were a dually it would be even a sweeter ride. But the single wheel will do you just fine. Don't sweat it.

I see you are a Chevy guy. I’m sorry. Lol just joking. When you can buy a new one and get it for the price I do. I can’t afford to buy anything else. Brother is retired for employee and fords family plan can’t be beat.

Bob,
If the routes you will take are primarily flatland you will be fine. If you are dealing with steep grades, I would look for a diesel.

That 1 ton will pull just about anything. Doesn't, really matter if it's a gasser or diesel since you're setting it up full time.

Okay thanks. So if we did decide to make a trip with I’m guessing I would be good. Just stay away from mountains and steep grades.

With the "Grunt" that Gasser has, you could probably do some big hills, you'ld just be slow.

My first dually was a Chevy Silverado, 3500 long bed, crew cab .... gasser. It towed marvelously! The only reason we got rid of that truck was because we purchased it used. It did just fine towing a 31 foot Springdale travel trailer. But when I had one oil change done, I asked my mechanic to do a really good inspection of everything on the truck. They did, and the results were sad. The frame was rusting out so bad, he recommended I never tow anything with that truck because the frame was so far gone, the truck could split in half. YIKES!
We traded for a used Silverado 3500 Dually long bed, crew cab .... diesel. Yes, the diesel seemed to have much more power and towed magnificent also.
We ended up trading that one for a brand new, never owned before 3500 Silverado, dually, long bed, crew cab diesel because the other one had fiberglass fenders. The entire sides of the truck bed needed to be replaced. Those side walls and fenders were spider cracking out. Replacing them would be $4000 per side. Ouch. Getting a new truck made better sense.
That truck was a towing beast also. Enter the third truck (in my signature below). So far, no rust, metal sides and still going strong.
Bottom line ... the gasser F350 will do you you just fine too. It will handle anything you throw at it. But yes, diesel is stronger, I agree.

Thank you. My main concern is will the SWD work okay for me. Don’t want to have to look at another truck because this camper should have a dueling. I’m thinking I’m okay. But want to check with others

Be sure to check the numbers yourself. You'll fine guys with 250/2500 series trucks on here telling you they are fine, "been using them for years." You are the only one that can compute your data to insure you are not over weight.

You're absolutely right! Seven trailers and 30 years of towing with all the wrong equipment and white knuckle moments, I learned. I have also learned that today's trucks are nothing like yesterdays trucks. At the end of the day it's how confident you are with your rig. Me?
Doesn't mean everyone will be. Do whats right for you within reason.
I'm not saying tow a Monty with a 1500 or an Expedition  Been there done that

Pulled twice across country 3761fl with 2017 King Ranch f350 turbo diesel 6.7 with no problems last year Arizona to South Carolina,up to Ohio, to Utah back to Phoenix area. This year Arizona to Ohio.

Mine is 2022 7.3 short bed with a auto slider. Thinking maybe adding a set of air bags. But haven’t got the camper yet. So will see.

We pull a 2021 3761FL with out 2019 F350 DRW 6.7 diesel. Pulls like a charm, forget the rig is back there sometimes! its a 6 speed transmission, I believe a 10 speed will be even better on fuel milage and easier pulling.

Something not questioned here is your rear axle gear ratio. Important for towing and Important for fuel mileage. Though the better towing axle is the least fuel efficient.

If you’re only pulling it 25 miles every so often then you’ll be fine. If your plans change then put it on a CAT scale and do the math to find out the actual weights. There are several YouTube videos on how to weigh a truck and Rv. At the end of the day you’re responsible for your safety. I’m a firm believer in staying within my trucks weight limits but I’m a full timer moving once or twice a week around the lower 48. Good luck !

My sig camper is very similar to yours and so is my truck with the exception of the engine. I'm running close to my payload limit but like you I am on a permanent site. When I move occasionally it is 375 miles mostly flat to SC low country. I have no problems. Yours being a gasser has several hundred lbs more payload which will give you more head room. You should have no issues with your set up.
