Rechargeable flashlight dead

My Rechargeable flashlight finally died. When it worked I found it very convenient. I remember some discussion about this earlier in the year. Did anyone find a place to get a replacement?

Come to Goshen and I'll give you mine. It was one of the first things I removed from my rig. Didn't like it in the old rig, didn't want it in the new one. Very weak beam. I like my D cell MagLite.

Grant - they are very hard to find online. Best place is from any Dealer. They are only about $12. I have never found a reasonable rechargeable alternative for under $100.

I took mine to a place that just sells batteries (Batteries-R-Us or Just Batteries or something like that). I watched the guy solder some rechargeables (I think they looked like C cells) together and then re-insert them in a cardboard tubular sleeve inside the unit. Of course it's not working any more. Bear in mind that mine is a 2000 model, so chances are it's not what's in the new Montanas. You might want to take it apart and see what's really in there in the way of batteries. It may be something you can replace yourself.

This is the first unit (we've had 3) that the flashlight actually worked. We find it handy when we go to walk the dogs at night. Would your dealer be able to help you?

If your Montana is still under warranty, get one from the dealer.

My dealer is 150 miles away but, when I called they didn't stock any of the flashlights and as to the warranty they said they would give me a $10 credit towards a new flashlight.

Like Chuck and Carol find it handy when I take the dog out before turning in.

Hmmm...maybe mine is different than yours, but I was able to replace the battery and it works fine again.

AZcampinfool put me on to this site for a rechargeable light; http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum5055.php Looks like a good light. I think he said he put it where the OEM was located. I just never ordered one. We got two from the dealer. When the second one went out, I took it apart. Very poor solder joints on the board in it. I merely tossed it in the trash. As Glen says, the MagLite does a good job.

We never got one with our new 3400RL, but from all issues you guys had with them I didn't even ask for one.

Deposit it in nearest trash can and get a good rechargeable (MagLite)

I never found one that worked very long. They'd take a charge and seemed to take less and less of a charge and then finally die. I now keep a 3-cell Maglite flashlight right by the door.

When mine died I found it was only the bulb. Went to Home Depot purchased a replacement bulb and then spent the evening trying to find a way to get to the old bulb so I could remove it. After figuring it out, I found it was just too obvious. It has worked ever since.

Find it useful when I need a light in the coach and don't want to disturb anyone else.

Lisa noticed during our PDI that we didn't have a flashlight and the dealer told us the company stopped installing them. Not only did the brochure still show them (which I can understand to a degree) but the website still listed it which I don't understand.

Just checked, It is no longer listed on the website except for the scanned Product brochure which still shows it in the customer Convience Group

We got a new Monty in July. When I asked where the flashlight so prominently displayed in the brochure was, they said Montana no longer puts them in because of all the problems they had with them. They have a new brochure that no longer shows them.
