Tredit wheels at 100 psi or more?
Anyone using the aluminum Tredit wheels that came with our Montanas with G rated tires at pressures above 100 psi?

We don't have the Montana, but we have a Cambridge that had Tredit Aluminum wheels. We had two wheels crack, the first wheel cracked in Houston Tx. and it was replaced with a new Tredit Aluminum wheel. And the new wheel cracked before we got to Corpus Christy Tx. Couldn't get a wheel replaced so we limp on to Mission Tx. Called Keystone and was sent to Gooding Rv center that was a total waste of time, dealer for Montana wouldn't or didn't want to order a new wheel. So on Wed. I called Southwest wheel in Dallas Tx. and ordered a new set of Alcoa Aluminum wheels and on Friday they were at our door step. And have had no problems since. If we hadn't been warned by a great person and he told us this would happen. So we ordered the Pressure Pro Monitoring system, so we could at the least monitor the air pressure, the system save us from sure tire failure because of low air pressure the tire would have blown out, and probably had major damage. I will never run Tredit Aluminum wheels. We run our tire pressure at 110 lbs, and the Tires run very cool. At the very least I suggest you get the Pressure Pro system. Good Luck....GBY....

Michael,
If my memory is correct; the Tredit aluminum wheels that came on your Montana are only rated up to 80 psi. They will not handle 100 to 120 psi. To run a G rated tire, you will have to buy new wheels.

We also have a Cambridge with Treditt supplied cast aluminum wheels. We had a failure and all wheels were replaced by Tredit. The tires and wheels were G rated and inflated to 110 psi. Our previous Monrtana also had aluminum rims which failed. They were inflated to 80 psi. For what its worth, Tredit is a supplier NOT a manufacturer. On the Cambridge the new rims are a different manufacturer than the originals. So far, no problem. However, at the first sign of a problem I will go with steel rim replacements.

Montana Sky, you are 100% correct. I called Tredit and that's exactly what they told me.

So if I want new wheels, what do I purchase? I was thinking that these are the right size?

And the studs are 1/2 inch?

snfexpress, Those are the same wheels I ordered and running on my Cambridge. Just make sure you have the right size lug nuts. My lug nuts were stamped. The Alcoa Aluminum wheels are a very professional looking wheel. I'm also running the Alcoa's on out Chevy Kodiak, Alcoa has be making wheels for Class 8 Trucks and trailers for many years. I think you will like the Alcoa's. And Southwest Wheel is a very Professional company. Service is excellent..... made in AMERICA....GBY....
Also make sure you use metal valve stems when you have them mounted.

What do you mean by lug nuts being the right size. Sorry, I'm new at his. I was going to take a lug nut off and take to tire shop to verify if 1/2" or 9/16". Anything else I should be looking for?

Thats correct just verify the size, it may be stamped on the lug nut itself. If not any tire shop can tell you what size it is... GBY......
