Smell from under sink
I notice a smell when I drain the sink after washing dishes. I found broken pipe going up into wall. I will start repairs. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Have never had a pipe break like that. PVC pretty tough.

Thinking was not installed correctly and forced together and going down the road stressed it to break.

Should be a fairly easy fix.

Overglued ABS. Be careful not to get sloppy with your ABS glue. It will degrade the pipe making it brittle. Also use ABS glue on ABS pipe.

As a builder it looks like they put way to much stress on the pipe when they did the plumbing a after towing it it broke as i can see in your pic the pipes don't line up at all!

The offset may make it hard to fix

Greetings fellow 3700RL owner! While we love the floor plan there (were) are a number of issues in its short lived model life (16 months) that we really hated it for a long time. If we could find a equivalent floor plan we would shed this POS in a hurry.
But I digress. I had this same exact problem. The joint (the thickest portion of the assembly) is what failed on mine too. I found that removing the vacuum cleaner assembly gave improved access to the problem. I had to open up the wall to get access to the vertical vent pipe in order to cut off the broken joint. Then a new 45 degree elbow was installed and bridged to the horizontal drain/vent pipe. I used a couple of short pieces of ABS and a NoHub rubber connector to allow some flex in the area (as you know, these 3700RLs flex quite a bit).
The problem is relatively easy to repair if you are able to crawl into the compartment and are comfortable working in a confined space.

I finished installing sink piping and cramped even after removing central vacuum. Carl n Susan ... You are correct on this piping installation. I am happy to find another 3700RL owner.

Yes that vent stack pipe does go up through the wall and out the roof.

I had a similar problem with my 3455sa when I purchased it used. Someone had done a half ass patch to the sink pipes with some kind of black goop. It actually was plumbed so it had to drain uphill before turning down.
I think there is a lot of stress in the area where the drain and vent pipes come together.
So what I did (3 years ago) was to demo every thing from 2" above the floor to the sink. I re-plumbed it with PVC pipe and used fernco flexible fittings to give it some expansion room. Has been fine ever since.

I have a 3455sa and have also had the problem of the abs breaking off below the studder valve. Simple once you get to it where you can make cuts etc. It was buried behind the sink enclosure in the water heater compartment. I added an offset to get it away from the enclosure frame which appeared to be why it broke with all the things that move going down the road. I reused the existing valve. That was April and have made several trips since seems good to go (no smell)
Glad to hear you were able to made repairs.
