Great Basin National Park NV

We would like to visit Great Basin National Park near Ely Nevada. we have a 38 foot 5th wheel. Looks like all the campgrounds in the park are limited to 28 feet. Even Ward Mountain campground is limited to 28 feet. Any recommendations on a good place to camp/boondocks.

We stayed at the Valley View RV Park, from there we actually rode our electric bikes up to the visitor center, 5 miles uphill. The campground isn’t much, they did offer FHU.

Beware the road from Utah to the park has a sign - 'No services for 90 miles' or such! LOL Good road but deserted. We saw 3 cars coming towards us in that whole stretch!

We live in St. George, Utah and know that desserted Utah road Twindman mentioned. Gas up in Delta or Ely, depending on which way your are arriving.

Ely, Nevada is about 1 hour from the park. There are a number of RV parks / Campgrounds in or near Ely. Check them out on the web.

If this is a November / December visit to the Park, take along some warm wooleys; you'll need them. Make sure to check the weather forecast.

I don't know when Leman Caves (an attraction inside the park) closes, but check it out on the web site.

Enjoy your trip. You're not going to have to deal with crowds.

We're going to visit Great Basin next Spring and have reservations at Border Inn Casino & RV Park in Baker, Nevada. It's about 12 miles outside of Great Basin NP. We've never been there before so I can't offer any comments.
