De-humidifier

We are staying in Charles City, Iowa until probably October. Just wondering with the humidity here if anyone thinks a de-humidifier is necessary in our montana. Thanks

We carry a small de-humidifier that we got at WalMart with us and usually leave it plugged up. It is small enough to sit on our desk and works very well in the confined space of the rig. Here is what we use:

Others may differ, but at least you now know what we use.

The humidity will be taken care of by the air conditioner when a true Iowa summer kicks in.

Mark and Wendy-- We're from Omaha and the humidity is the same here and the A/C does take care of the humidity pretty well. I don't know what unit you have but there was a thread on here about three weeks ago talking about second A/Cs the there was one post about a portable A/C unit that Lowes has. You might want to search that thread out if you don't have the second A/C. These units are GREAT!!! We are in Ohio at the present without our Monte but I have two sister-in-laws that don't have A/C in their houses. While we have been here we have gone down to Lowes and purchased two of the units. Both of these units are larger than needed for a Monte but they make a smaller one that would work well and I'm thinking of getting one for our Monte since we only have the one A/C in ours. The two units here are 9000 and 11000 BTUs and each has a setting on it for dehumidifier besides A/C and fan settings. Boy does that work!!! The air coming out of them when on dehumidify is COLD! Even my one sister-in-law says she had to cover up because it got cold in the livingroom while she was watching TV. THe humidity is vaporized on the coil or condensor (don't know which) and is vented out the exhaust tube which is set in a window with a vent feature that comes with the unit. Check them out-- they do work! They are made by DeLonghi if you are checking on them!

*** I have no vested interest in this product just thought I'd let MOCrs know how the unit work!

Dehumidifiers are not all that necessary if you crack a vent so that you get some circulation in the rig. We haven't used one since 1983 and have gotten along just fine without one. Everyone must do what they feel they must do. Some do and some don't.
